Breeding for Health, Temperament & Happiness
Health and temperament are at the core of our breeding program. Each of our breeding dogs undergoes extensive health and genetic screening before being considered for breeding.
Testing includes PennHip and elbow X-rays, patella evaluations, heart checks, DNA testing, coat and eye health assessments, and temperament evaluations. These measures help us ensure that our puppies are bred with the greatest care for their long-term health and wellbeing.

Birth & Early Days
Our puppies are born safely inside our home where they are closely and lovingly supervised. From their very first days they receive gentle handling, human contact, and plenty of cuddles, helping them grow into affectionate and people-focused companions.

Early Development & Stimulation
Early Neurological Stimulation begins from three days old. These short daily exercises gently introduce puppies to new sensations, helping support healthy neurological development and building resilience as they grow.

Growing Up & Learning
As the puppies grow, their world gradually expands. They explore outdoor spaces, experience different textures and surfaces, and are introduced to enrichment activities such as wobble boards, tunnels, water play, swings, bridges and afternoon walk around our neighbourhood in the safety of their puppy pram.
These playful learning opportunities encourage curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

Health & Veterinary Care
Our puppies follow a carefully planned health program. They are wormed at two, four, six, and eight weeks and are introduced to grooming routines including nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gentle brushing.
At seven weeks of age, each puppy receives a full veterinary health check, vaccination, and microchip. Families also receive four weeks of complimentary pet insurance through Trupanion for extra peace of mind.

Our Guardian Families
All of our breeding dogs live with loving guardian families where they enjoy full family lives. This ensures they receive the daily companionship, attention, and social experiences that every dog deserves.
Puppies benefit greatly from this family-centred environment, inheriting the calmness, confidence, and affectionate nature of their parents.

Ready for Their Forever Homes
When the time comes to join their new families, usually around eight to nine weeks of age, our puppies leave with their health records, vaccination and microchip details, and helpful guidance to support a smooth transition into their new homes.
By this stage they have already experienced early socialisation, enrichment activities, and plenty of love and human interaction, giving them a wonderful foundation for the life ahead.
Puppies usually go home at 8–9 weeks with health and vaccination records, microchip registration, helpful guidance for settling in, and the foundations for a happy, confident life.

Training & Socialisation
Cobberdogs are intelligent, affectionate, and eager to learn. We recommend arranging training before your puppy arrives, either at home or through Steps Dog Training by Tammy on the Gold Coast, which offers a 28-day stay-and-train program: https://stepstherapyaustralia.com/.
